Dainty hairpins are perfect for the minimalist bride, or a fab way to tie a bridesmaid’s hair accessories to the bride’s.
What is a hairpin?
A hairpin is a small, delicate hair accessory made on a metal U-shaped pin and topped with beautiful beading such as rhinestones, crystals and pearls. They are normally 3-4” long.
How many hairpins do I need?
Hairpins can be supplied singularly or in sets of multiples. Depending on the size of the design, one hairpin is normally used for an understated, minimalist look. However, you can build the dramatics by wearing them in clusters of three.
What kind of hair do they work best in?
Hairpins tend to work best in up-dos or half-up-half-down hairstyles. You could add a singular hairpin off to one side of a low up-do. Or add two or three along the mid-point of your half up-do.
Are hairpins a suitable accessory for a bridesmaid?
Yes. Due to their delicate nature, hairpins are the perfect accessory for a Bridesmaid. Even younger bridesmaids. The hairpins are also very lightweight meaning that children are less likely to get irritated with them being added to their hairstyles. Having said this, we would advise against giving hairpins to children under 3 years old, due to them having small parts.
I’m having a Boho style wedding, can I still wear hairpins?
Yes! In contrast to the minimalistic hairpins, we also have hair pins that include sprigs of wire at the top of the pin, that the beading detailing sits upon like leaves. These would make the perfect addition to any Boho Bride.
How versatile are hairpins?
Hairpins are one of, if not the most, versatile hair accessories. Due to the size of the hairpin, they can be placed anywhere in the hair. Add in the option to be able to use as many, or little, as you like and you have countless different looks.
